Clare Gilhooly – Chief Executive

Clare Gilhooly has been Chief Executive of Cambridge House since 2004 and has overseen its growth as one of the leading Community Anchor organisations in England. Prior to this she was the Centre Coordinator at Bedford House, a community centre based in Holborn, London. She also worked as Regional Manager for VRH (Volunteer Reading Help), a literacy scheme linking up volunteers with primary school age children.
Clare has a Diploma in Youth and Community Development Work from De Montfort University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management of Community Education from the University of Warwick.
Clare is a member of the advisory body for the Office for the Third Sector and a member of the Southwark Alliance. She is a trustee of Locality and through them, the IFS (International Federation of Settlements), and 1st Place Nursery. She is also a trustee of Magdalene College Youth Trust, a constituent college of the University of Cambridge.

Burger Edwards – Director: Business Development & Finance
Burger Edwards has been at Cambridge House since 2006. His first action was to secure a £15,000 grant from the ACF (Adventure Capital Fund) which started the ball rolling for the redevelopment of the premises. Previously, Burger was the Centre Manager at The Round Chapel, a United Reform Church which also runs community projects.
Before joining the Third Sector, Burger ran several of his own businesses, including ventures in the transport, retail, construction, property development, manufacturing, farming and tourism sectors. He studied Business Management, Economics, Accounting, Law and Political Science at the Rand Afrikaans University in South Africa.
Burger is a qualified PADI Divemaster and has logged thousands of scuba dives across the world.

Charlotte Gilsenan – Director of Services

Charlotte Gilsenan joined Cambridge House in November 2009. Charlotte was Head of Operations for Street League, a national sport for development charity, from 2005 until she joined Cambridge House.
She previously worked as a Programmes Manager at the Prince’s Trust, and started her career teaching in London. She has a PGCE in Secondary Education from the Institute of Education, London University and a BA (Hons) degree from Brunel University.
